Wa'jibaath, the second essentials of Salaah
the Second Essentials of Salaah
Reciting the Surath al Fa’thiha in each rakaah
(ALHAM’DU LILLAHI RABBIL AALAAMEEN…..)
Reciting another Surah after this.
In Salaah's Faj'r, Juma'a, Maghrib, Ishaa, Thara’vaeh and
on the two Eids, the recitations cited above are rendered in Qiraath,
a 'mellifluous melody'.
Reciting the Surath al Fath'iha before its following Surah.
Standing up, erect, after performing Rukooh.
Sitting, for a moment's respite, between the two Saj’dah's.
Qaa’yida, remaining seated in the second and fourth rakaah’s
(and also in the third rakaah of Salaah’s Maghrib and With'r).
Concluding the Salaah with Salaams.
In Salaah’s Zuh'r and As'r, Qiraath is rendered in a subdued, almost inaudible tone.
The Imam must recite aloud the Qiraath in the first two rakaah’s of Salaah’s Maghrib and Ishaa, as also in Salaah’s Faj'r, Juma'a, Eidul Fith’r and Eid al Ad’haa, and in all rakaah’s of SalaathuthTharavaeh (the Special Salaah performed in Jama’ath, congregation, every night in the month of Ramadan, after Salaathul Ishaa).
Reciting the Du’aaaye Qunooth in the Salaath ul With'r.
(Salaathul With'r is a must--be-performed "Wa'jib" Salaah. It is performed every night after Salaathul Ishaa. The devout postpone it so they may perform the optional Thahajjud prayers in the last third of the night and then perform this last prayer of the night, the Salaathul With'r).
Observing six extra Thakbeirs (saying ALLAHU AKBAR) in the Salaah’sWaajib performed in congregation on the two annual festivals Eidul Fith’r and Eid al Ad’haa.
If any of these are missed, unintentionally, it is enough to perform Sajdaye Sahoo at the end of the Salaah.
If the lapse was intentional, the Salaah must be performed all over again.
